Featured speaker Steve Haugaard, attorney and former Speaker of the House, will share firsthand insight from inside the Legislature and offer a clear-eyed perspective on restoring transparency and public trust in South Dakota government.
Guests will enjoy a welcoming social atmosphere with heavy hors d’oeuvres, meaningful fellowship, and updates from Freedom Caucus legislators on the challenges and opportunities ahead in Pierre.
Steve Haugaard is an attorney and former Speaker of the South Dakota House of Representatives, with decades of experience in law, public service, and legislative leadership. During his time in the Legislature, he was known for his commitment to constitutional principles, transparent governance, and holding government accountable to the people it serves.
As Speaker, Haugaard worked to uphold the integrity of the legislative process and has been a consistent voice for truth, trust, and accountability in state government. Drawing on his firsthand experience inside Pierre, he will offer a candid perspective on the importance of transparency in governance, the consequences when it erodes, and what principled leadership looks like moving forward for South Dakota.
